President Biden’s spineless foreign policy approach in the Middle East is having disastrous real-world consequences. 

A series of recent events highlights the grave situation that has unfolded due to the Biden Administration’s spineless policies and stances in the Middle East.

1. An alleged Iranian drone strike killed an American contractor, only to be followed by tit-for-tat retaliatory strikes on U.S. forces in Syria. This brazen attack underscores the dangers of Biden’s appeasement strategy, which has emboldened Iran and its proxies to act aggressively against American interests in the region. They no longer fear America.
2. The Biden Administration’s hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan has left a tragic legacy. As of March 2023, there are still 175 Americans trapped in the war-torn country, left to suffer at the behest of the Taliban. To make matters worse, the administration left billions of dollars’ worth of equipment for the Taliban to seize, effectively providing our enemies with resources that could be used against us.

3. The frequency of attacks on U.S. forces in the Middle East has increased alarmingly. Reports indicate that since January 2021, American forces have come under attack by drones and rockets fired by Iran’s proxies a staggering 78 times. This uptick in violence can be directly attributed to the Biden Administration’s lax stance on Iran, which has only served to embolden Tehran and its regional allies.

The connection between these attacks and Biden’s soft-on-Iran policy cannot be ignored. By attempting to rekindle the disastrous Iran Nuclear Deal and lifting sanctions on the Iranian regime, the Biden Administration has sent a clear message: It’s open season on American interests in the Middle East.

It’s no secret that Iran is a leading state sponsor of terrorism and a destabilizing force in the region. By kowtowing to their demands, President Biden has effectively placed American lives and interests at risk. To reverse this dangerous trend, the administration must enact a maximum pressure campaign against the terroristic regime, which includes reinstating harsh sanctions.

The tragic incidents of American lives lost, citizens stranded in Afghanistan, and increased attacks on U.S. forces are a direct result of President Biden’s misguided policy. It’s high time the administration rethinks its approach and takes a stronger stand against Iran and its proxies to reinstall deterrence and fear in the eyes of America’s enemies.
