Sanctuary cities have become safe havens for criminals, not innocent families.

The American people have had enough. Sanctuary cities—once marketed as compassionate havens for immigrants—have transformed into lawless enclaves where criminal illegal immigrants are shielded from justice while law-abiding citizens pay the price. The facts are clear, the consequences are deadly, and the politicians responsible must be held accountable.

What Are Sanctuary Cities?

Let’s set the record straight. Sanctuary cities are not about “welcoming immigrants” or “protecting the vulnerable.” That’s the left’s emotional ploy to distract from the truth. In reality, sanctuary cities actively obstruct federal immigration enforcement, making it harder for ICE to do its job. Local law enforcement is prohibited from cooperating with federal authorities, even when dealing with illegal immigrants convicted of serious crimes like murder, rape, and human trafficking.

And what’s the result? Sanctuary cities have become safe havens for criminals, not innocent families. The lawless policies of New York, Chicago, Boston, and Denver allow violent offenders to evade deportation and re-offend—right in our communities.

The Facts: How Sanctuary Cities Are Putting Americans in Danger

Let’s look at the numbers, because while leftist politicians love to deal in emotions, numbers don’t lie.

  • ICE reports that over 662,000 noncitizens with criminal histories are on their national docket—but thanks to sanctuary policies, only 10,000 are currently detained.
  • In Boston, ICE arrested four alleged child rapists and an MS-13 gang member—criminals who remained free because local officials refused to hand them over.
  • In Chicago, taxpayers are being fleeced for $3.9 billion annually to cover the costs of illegal immigration, including $601.4 million in law enforcement expenses alone.
  • In New York, ICE arrested 75 criminal illegal aliens in just a few days, including a Dominican national wanted for double homicide.
  • In Denver, law enforcement released dozens of Tren de Aragua gang members, even as ICE detained 29 of them in a single operation.

This is the result of the sanctuary city experiment: rising crime, billions in taxpayer burdens, and American lives lost.

The Politicians Who Are Enabling Criminals

This isn’t happening by accident. It’s happening because radical leftist politicians have chosen to protect criminal illegal aliens over their own citizens. These so-called leaders are knowingly and willfully obstructing federal law—and it’s time for them to be held accountable.

Kathy Hochul (NY)

📌 Potential Charges: Aiding & Abetting Illegal Immigration | Obstruction of Justice

  • NY’s sanctuary policies actively block ICE from accessing DMV records, allowing criminals to hide in plain sight.
  • In January 2025 alone, 75 illegal immigrants were arrested, including a Mexican national charged with attempted murder and a Dominican fugitive wanted by Interpol for homicide.
  • NY’s refusal to cooperate with ICE has allowed the Tren de Aragua gang to infiltrate the Bronx.

Brandon Johnson (Chicago, IL)

📌 Potential Charges: Obstruction of Justice | Endangering Public Safety

  • Chicago harbors 50,000+ illegal migrants, diverting $3.9 billion in taxpayer funds from law-abiding citizens.
  • In January 2025, ICE arrested 100 criminals, including gang members and repeat violent offenders.
  • Chicago’s policies have overwhelmed shelters and drained law enforcement resources, all while crime continues to skyrocket.

Michelle Wu (Boston, MA)

📌 Potential Charges: Aiding & Abetting Illegal Immigration | Harboring Criminals

  • January 2025: A Haitian migrant charged with raping a disabled person was released into the community instead of being deported.
  • Four child rapists and an MS-13 gang member were protected by Boston’s sanctuary policies—criminals who should have been removed from the country immediately.
  • One of these criminals, Cory Alvarez, raped a 15-year-old girl in a Rockland hotel—and still, Boston authorities resisted cooperating with ICE.

Mike Johnston (Denver, CO)

📌 Potential Charges: Aiding & Abetting Criminal Enterprises | Harboring Known Criminals

  • Denver’s policies have emboldened the Tren de Aragua gang, one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in the world.
  • In February 2025, ICE detained 29 gang members, but Denver officials refused to assist in arresting dozens more.
  • Denver authorities released Luz Maria Ramirez-Monreal, an illegal immigrant charged with burglary, assault, kidnapping, and child abuse, instead of handing her over to ICE.

Enough Is Enough—It’s Time to Indict These Politicians

It is long past time for accountability. These leaders have violated federal immigration law, aided and abetted criminal enterprises, and placed the lives of American citizens in danger. The Department of Justice must act.

Attorney General Pam Bondi must bring criminal charges against these sanctuary city politicians for:

🔴 Aiding & abetting illegal immigration
🔴 Obstruction of justice
🔴 Endangering public safety
🔴 Harboring criminals

If an average citizen aided and abetted a criminal fugitive, they would be arrested and prosecuted immediately. These politicians should not be treated any differently.
